MEME Winnipeg: Explore Electronic Music and Digital Art

Choose an electronic music event by atmosphere, venue and access requirements.

← Summer in Winnipeg

MEMETIC supports electronic music and audio-visual creativity, with a particular focus on Manitoba artists and connections beyond the province. Its Manitoba Electronic Music Exhibition gives Winnipeg residents a way to explore electronic performance as both music and an arts experience.

Choose the experience, not just the label

Electronic music covers a wide range of sounds and settings. Read the current event descriptions and listen to artist samples before deciding. A daytime public performance and a late-night venue event may have very different atmospheres.

Check each event separately

Confirm the venue, admission arrangement, age restrictions and accessibility for the specific event you want. Do not assume a festival pass covers every related gathering or that all programming is outdoors and free.

Give the visuals attention

When audio-visual work is part of a performance, spend a few minutes noticing how image and sound interact. You can enjoy the work without knowing the equipment or software behind it. Let curiosity guide the visit rather than feeling you need specialist vocabulary.

Plan the journey home and decide in advance how long you want to stay. If loud environments are difficult for someone in your group, check the venue information and consider an alternative session. Lineups and formats evolve, so use the organizer’s latest announcements instead of assuming that a past edition’s stage or location will return unchanged.
